I am the proud new owner a 99 F350 crew V10. My first new truck in a long time. I'm having trouble with the lights. When the switch is off Head lights on. When turned to park lights head lights and park lights on. When turned to lights, Park lights on no low beam but have high beams. I put in new bulb and the same thing. Does any one know where the dimmer switch relay is? Next thing is
Washed the dust off motor and took for a drive. the batt. light came on and the volt. gage is still showing in the half way mark.I think it is the Alt. but wanted to check with others.
Do these headlamps come on in the off position only when the key is on? You may have DRLs and that is what you are seeing as headlamps in off and park, and when you switch to headlamps the DRL relay switches the DRLs off and the headlamps are energized. Check fuses 9 and 11 in the Power distribution box in the engine compartment, both 10Amp fuses with lowbeams on and switch to headlamps. You could have a circuit problem in the multifunction switch, or the DRL module or DRL relays.
The EVTM shows there is a DRL relay block with two relays on the right hand side of the instrument panel. And a DRL resistor at the left and front of the engine compartment, at connector 109.

The head lights do came on in the park position with the key off. I do hear a relay in the dash on the pasenger side when I turn to the lights on position with key off. The lights do came on when the key is on and in the light switch is in off position.(DRL) Thanks for the info I will check and see if I have any power to the low beam fuse when I get home.
Any thoughts on the Batt light on the dash. There is 12 volts at the batt. during idle. I know that is low for an older car but I know nothing about the new stuff.
Batt. Light was bad alternator. Going to rebuild this one.
Still tracking down the low Beam trouble. I have power at fuse 9&11 with DRL the goes away when I turn on the lights. Bench tested the relay that I found above glove box and it was good. Next step is to find where it goes from there. I found that it has some 80w/100w bulbs in it. Could have fried wire. I found the drivers side bulb had sliped out and melted down the back of the houseing all the way to the metal frame work.
