Derale Trans pan

I know this is the "Diesel" section but because most guys buy diesels for their towing abilities I figured I would ask here. Im looking for some more cooling for my trans. Obviously adding an additional cooler is on the list but I was also looking at trans pans. The Derale pan is about half the price of a Mag Hytec or BD pan. Its steel vs aluminium like the others but has the small tubes going through it that should allow airflow through to cool the oil. Anyone have any experience with these?

The only guy towing really heavy here with an auto that I know of is Glenn.
I dont think he runs a trans cooler at all, but i could be mistaken.

What do you have for a truck? Look at the trucool 4739, it works very well. I've towed my 17k load in overdrive in 95 degree windy weather and never saw over 205. I just run a stock pan.

Yes I do. If you want to cool the trans get a better cooler. You can't cool the trans with a pan. I don't care what the pan manufacturer claims, it isn't going to cool the trans.

Then he is burning up a lot of transmissions. An automatic won't survive long without a cooler, especially towing heavy.

Glenn is running a big a$$ 6.0l trans cooler. I have first hand knowledge of it.

Aaron is correct, a 32 row 6.0 trans cooler. I hardly ever see over 190° but the last two summers I haven't seen 95° temps either.

I live in southern AZ so it gets pretty hot here in summer. I have a 34' dual axle GN trailer that I plan to use to tow my rock crawlers around on so I want to make sure to keep the trans cool, however I dont want to keep it so cool its not getting to operating temp when I'm just daily driving.
