2016 FTE Washington events?
As a relatively new resident of the Evergreen State I am still learning the geography of Washington. Is there a place on the FTE site where I might be able to find events for old Ford trucks and old Ford truck enthusiasts to attend? I reside in Morton, on US 12 on the west side of the Cascades. Puyallup, Centralia, Longview, and maybe Yakima would be reasonable distances to travel to. Also, is there some procedure I am missing for joining this forum? I think I made a 'join request' about a month ago.

Yes Welcome Mr Rob, I've recently returned to the web site after being off line for a couple of years. I have my own little piece of heaven in the middle of the Long Beach peninsula. Lost the first wife of 30 years 3 years ago and recently remarried a beauty from Utah 6 months ago. New job a month after

Congratulations on the new union EDC8008, and thanks everyone for the kind welcome. As a flatland "Hoosier," I had never dug for clams, but on the day after Christmas I went 'clamming' at Copalis with wife, two daughters, son-in-law, son-in-law's father, and my sister-in-law (visiting from Massachusetts). Seven adults in all and our five month old grandson. It was a new experience for the five of us originally from Indiana. We got our limit (15 each) just as it became dark and then we enjoyed a campfire on the beach. What fun! Acquired two 'guns' and went back with one daughter and grandson last Friday. Cleaning and prep was much better and easier this time. We enjoyed fresh fried clams right after the Vikings missed the field goal on Sunday.

Here's my intro: I just moved up to Raymond from Modesto, CA last Saturday. Gave up 1 phone company job for another. This one is much less physically demanding. My last day in CA was the 4th, got married on the 5th, and headed up to Albany, OR on the 6th to my parents' place. Originally from Oregon, I'm trying to get a bit closer, so I know what to expect with the "showers" up here. Instead of 10+ hours to get to the family, it's 3.5.
My Ford related post: The ol 67 was a champ, even though it wasn't liking the steeper hills. A cammed six with a 4 speed, and 2.75 butt gears isn't for towing! The trailer was loaded to the max with lots of tools, and I'd say it weighed about 4k pounds.

We appreciate visitors! And you have quite the nice truck there. On the topic, I used to have 2.73s in my 78 Bronco, terrible... got upgraded to 4.11s and now it feels like a real V8 instead of a little v6 out of my F150.

Looks like an old faithful and wish I had one still for Dailey use. Got rid of the baby bow tie a few months ago after I bought the Bronco. Guess what, may get to head home sooner than I thought. Project manager doesn't want to pay $600.00 a day plus expenses for me to sit on my can waiting for parts that may be 30 to 60 days out.
Doesn't hurt mine or the wife's feelings as we're tired of working in the jungle here in the southern end of Mexico. And there's nothing to do here.

Welcome to the Washington Chapter. You're living in Oregon currently?

Hello fellow Washington Chapter FTE'ers. Happy New Year to you all. Dave here in Everett checking in. Been lurking around the boards a bit and read the B.S thread to stay current on what you guys are thinking/doing. Im living vicariously through some of you as I envy what you got going on and the fact you can get to the monthly meets.(The wife seems to be good at keeping me busy with other things.) Id LOVE to make it to one or two so I can meet everyone and drive my F350 for show n tell, but its not quite road worthy yet as I have a few more things to get done. Like all new tierods so it doesn't scare the crap out of me on the freeway. Around town is ok but freeway speeds are no bueno. Anyhoo....I'll be popping in here from time to time. Peace.

Eh, I may have missed that part I saw something about going to Oregon... anyways, welcome!
Dave, I'm in a similar boat with my 78 Bronco. The steering is quickly going to hell. But I need to get priorities straight, I'll be looking at ordering stuff for a lift which includes steering parts. And at the same time, looking into a new steering box, tie rod ends, and so on.
