Tom - I recently retired and was in Information Technology for 43 years as my day job. Most recently I was a Systems Architect and Manager where helped create and manage one of the largest data warehouses in the financial sector.
Now I am getting back to my roots and will be doing auto restoration and hot rods in my shop..
I'm a recruiter for the Army. Started out with the Army in '03 right out of high school, left active duty in 2007 after getting somewhat bored with my job. Was a professional truck driver for a couple years before applying to be a recruiter for the Army Reserve. Started in early 2010 in Hudson, WI, and this is my third recruiting center. It's getting a little stale, but its treated me well over the years.
In other news, our daughter Hannah is showing some really concerning symptoms. She's happy and alert, but she has less upper body strength than she has in years, and she can't extend her legs without pain. Her neurosurgeon thinks her spinal cord is tethered or the back of her brain is compressed again. She's had both surgeries a few years ago, one is relatively quick and the other is kind of a Big Deal. They're trying to set up a sedated MRI to check it out, but they may have to admit her to get that done.
Since I'm relatively new to the group here, what does everyone do for work?
I own a small business selling and servicing pressure washers. Prior to that I was an otr truck driver.
