Around here a 3rd of the town is drunk, a 3rd is stoned and the rest of us are working overtime to take up the slack
That sounds normal for Alaska.
The statistics for Alaska are grim - - - Alcohol Abuse, Drug Abuse, Violence against Women, Rape of Children, STDs. Alaska ranks disturbingly high for its population size, it's a train-wreck. Imho, Alaska is a magnet for low-functioning, criminally oriented, maladjusted, scumbags.
If it wasn't for the fact that this town has the most moderate weather in Canada for people with lung and heart conditions and has a relatively safe economy, I wouldn't live here. There's good people here, but we keep to ourselves as we're tired of the damage that true Calgarians do.
Hope you guys are having a good summer weather wise and that the fires aren't to bad.
I've been so busy this summer it isn't funny. Had family up here and had to show them around, been camping and getting out. The weather has been more typical summer without many "hot" days and not many sunny ones either but hey, it's not -10 and 4 foot of snow so get out and enjoy it!!
I've been so busy I have not uploaded any. Leaves are falling like crazy!
Temps are a bit funny, we should have had a below freezing night by now but we haven't. Daytime temps in the low 50s night temps around 40. This weekend it's supposed to be clear meaning colder temps and they say we might hit freezing.
Hoping for a good winter with plenty of snow and cold temps
I'd much rather have snow then rain. Snow means money if things stay below freezing like last winter I'll be happy. It keeps things cleaner, less ice build up and more money selling plows at work and for me plowing driveways
