Good evening Oregon and everyone everywhere else. Worked up quite a sweat and wore myself out today laying on the couch and avoiding the Warden's cast iron skillet. I just don't know if I can do this for 4 to 6 weeks. They won't even listen to my appeal until Oct. 27th!!
I'm a bit sore too. But they gave me oxy for that, which doesn't seem to work! Cheap dope!!!

Jim, one way to get around the pain do something you are not suppose to do and when the Warden introduces you to the frying pan you will not have any pain until you regain consciousness.

Not so much the pain or discomfort really. I probably wouldn't even take the stuff, but they were pretty insistent that for the first week I "stay ahead of it and not play catch up" to aid in the healing and recovery process. I can handle the pain for the most part and have put up with a lot worse in the past. Just gives me something to beech about.
I just don't seem to be able to sleep for more than 20 to 30 minutes at a time and that is what is getting old. I'm told that everything should start to settle down during the course of this first week, but I'm impatient and don't like being on the sick, lame and lazy list. They don't even want me driving for the first two weeks.
They offered me some meds for sleep, but I told them I didn't like the side effects and probably wouldn't take them unless I got really desperate so they didn't write the script for it. All I have to do is make a phone call and they will send some if it comes down to that.
