So how much of a drop is the truck supposed to have when all said and done? Also looks as though you have a Dana 44 rear in the truck. Are you planning on keep that, or swapping in a 9"?

I'm guessing 3.5" of drop. Honestly, probably gonna keep the rear end, I like the fact that I can put a nicer differential cover on it to dress it up a bit. Thinking on doing an AOD swap too.

It's taken way to long to get started, but I had certain things I wanted to be sure of so it wouldn't get halfway done then come to a screeching halt. Only issue right now is paint, and I'm leaning towards painting it myself.

So pulled the front clip and removed the intake and heads to see if the block would be salvageable...

Some wonky looking brackets for the alt and PS...

Front clip is as close to perfect as I have seen on an unrestored truck..

Managed to pull the front clip without unhooking most of the wiring so far..

Take it from me, remove the exhaust manifolds from the pipe while they are still bolted to the head...

So here it is, stripped down to short block, mostly. The cylinder walls look good, so I'm hoping to ball hone the block instead of having it bored...

She is currently in the process of installing a new wiring harness in the Green 73'. Probably will post some pics of all that in another thread.

Will do my friend. If you're wondering why I say couple of days though. my truck is at a friends farm in a barn. Then just check out the general discussion thread for the rest of the reason. Hehehe.

Oh wait. This just dawned on me. My truck has a 351M and it appears yours is a 302. I'll still get a pic of that for you. Not to mention have a spare in my sort of garage. So I'll get a pic of that one for you in a little bit. Sorry for the blonde moment. Hehehe.
