I don't get too hung up on list prices, since that $300 is easily offset by any change in discounts or rebates.
It will be interesting to see what the actual "out the door" prices are looking like in the second half of the year.
Looks like Ford couldn't wait to increase the prices:
I think a few hundred dollar increase is pretty standard when they change model years. What surprised me was how some things changed price in the middle of the model year.
The 36-gallon fuel tank was a $295 option on my truck, and it was built in February. Sometime between then and now it's increased to $395 on the same MY 15 truck.
The note of sticker price is interesting to note. If you order a truck the dealer should use the C09 code, that holds current prices. If they don't, the cost may go up (though if you agree to a price it shouldn't matter, but its really not to anyone benefit. A truck ordered early in the year will have a lower invoice cost than the same truck ordered late in the year, so savings can be had.... but we're talking about a few hundred bucks out of tens of thousands, so it really is more of an economic thoughtful moment, then an economic decision factor.
There's starting to get a few new trucks on my route but all of them are lower end models, STX and XLT. Just one FX4.
In the case of a $100 increase for a 36 gallon tank, it's not surprising but $100 more? Did the plastic tank get better? Is the pump assembly better? I'll wager neither, it's a popular option. These are the little things that really tick me off.

Could also be how they manage scarcity. If their suppliers are having trouble keeping up with demand for the 36-gallon tank, one way of managing that would be to raise the price to reduce demand. Just a guess though.
I like the big tank though. Went over 600 miles on a tank last Sunday, and 700 would be easily possible with warmer weather.

I just went through the online configurator for grins, and they've made some interesting changes to the way the truck is configured.
For one, none of the configurations I did last April could be had without running boards. Now running boards are a separate line item. That, and when you add them, it forces you into a "Limited", which includes the dumb fat stripes down the front door, and back around the tailgate.
I think, because of the truck height, and many people that I load/unload, that the running boards are a mandatory item these days. Heck, my better half even wants/needs running boards on her Tacoma.
I'd take another look at the running boards, I just built an XLT with running boards without issue.
You're probably looking at the power extending running boards that can be only had in Limited trim.
I was looking at the Lariat with the 502 package, FX4 in sport trim. No running boards, and when I clicked on the plain, black running boards, it wanted/needed me to accept the Limited edition for $1800 (or about that). That also added the stupid sport stripes on the sides.
I guess the other way to deal with it would be to have the dealer add the running boards.
I did not look at the XLT. Maybe I should try that. I was trying to put together the minimum configuration that included the LED headlights (which I think means 502 on a Lariat).
Power deplorable is optional on Lariat and KR, standard on Platinum and Limited
502a is standard with running boards.

It was. When I collected information on the 502 today, it did not list it on the feature list. That, and the CGI image did not show running boards. Running boards appeared when I ticked that option.

I did Build Your Ford on the site and 502a shows chrome running boards.
