Do not want chrome. Mainly only want 502A for the LED headlights.
Sure it is chrome by default, but as soon as you add FX4 or sport appearance, the running boards get deleted.
I think that's what I started out saying.
Select 502a, FX4, then Sport pkg. Then you should have paint to match step bars. That's how mine is equipped, but it's a very late build '15. I've built a '16 just like it on Ford's build and price. I would have ordered but I happened to find a '15 in stock very close to what I wanted.

It will do that on an XLT, but not on a Lariat with the 2016. Not too big a deal if the dealer can add the running boards. Kind of academic anyway, as I am not going to replace a 6-month old truck.
The solution for me would be the ability to upgrade my halogen headlights for a couple hundred bucks. I don't think that's going to happen very soon. Right now the upgrade looks like it's going to run ~~ $1,000.
I'd love LED headlights. Not because I think my halogens are inadequate by any means, but I'm kind of a geek with new tech. NO way am I paying $1,000 for the upgrade though.
There's starting to get a few new trucks on my route but all of them are lower end models, STX and XLT. Just one FX4.
In the case of a $100 increase for a 36 gallon tank, it's not surprising but $100 more? Did the plastic tank get better? Is the pump assembly better? I'll wager neither, it's a popular option. These are the little things that really tick me off.
I just bought a new F150, a 2015 Screw Lariat 4X4, and I was amazed that it had a build date of 10/15! Ford must be selling a bunch of these to keep the production line going on the same model year that long. I had never heard of something that late in the year. It also has the $395 gas tank option. I am sure it never changed other than the price.
The info I have seen said 2016 production started 10/12 and final 2015 production was 11/8... so I am guessing that Dearborn started 2016's on 10/12, but KC still made 2015's through 11/8? Just a guess. Where was yours built?
jscozz, I think you are correct. I am pretty sure my truck is a KC build (I will follow up with a correction if I am mistaken) and made just before the 11/8/15 changeover. I just never seen current model year motor vehicles being made that late into the year. Is this normal?

Near the bottom of your window sticker it should show the final assembly plant

No it isn't. Usually model year changeover is done in August.
