Injectors

How much damage would it cause if I forgot to remove the plastic tip before I installed a new injector?

pull the injectors out and let us know what you find. id imagine the amount of fuel pressure that these things have would shoot the plastic straight into the combustion chamber

The tip of the injector almost reaches into the chamber. Most likely they blew off
and may be in the exhaust (turbine) side of the turbo. They are a soft plastic.
As already said I would pull them back out. The reason I I am willing to bet that
not all of the plastic went into the chamber and some may of help the injector up
just a bit and now that they have heated the torque that was there has crushed that
soft plastic and not you have gassed blowing past the copper washer. You will need
one O-ring kit for each injector. Brush out each injector bore. Place new O-rings and
washer on the injector and apply fresh engine oil to the O-rings and reinstall.

Also I would clean the turbo to make sure that there is not any plastic gumming up
things in there.

Happy New Year 2016 is almost here
