Fuel filter wire??

I got a new one piece fuel filter with the drain screw built in but there is no spot for the wire on the bottom. Is that wire important?

Not really, its the water in fuel sensor. Drain a little from the fuel filter drain every oil change or so and you should be fine.

as said, that is for the water in fuel sensor. mine has been disconnected since 1991

My sensor in the bowl never worked anyway. FWIW, if you really want it, they make a filter, without the bowl, but has the sensor. Napa 3617- wix filter, bout $40
