Vibration/misfiring???
Ok guys, i am a little puzzled on this one. I have a 95 F 150 4x4 4.9 liter inline 6. Here is what i have done in the past week. New distributor cap, roter, wires, and plugs. Also, a new ignition coil and exhaust from the cat back. Truck starts up just fine but i start to get a pretty hard vibration at the top of second gear and beyond. The faster i go the more the vibration. I thought at first maybe it is misfiring but i am not sure. I also thought maybe it is u joints but i replaced the ones on the main drive shaft about 6 months ago so i have sort of ruled that out. I Dont know what to do. I pulled all of the plug wires one at a time while the truck was running and verified they were all getting spark to the plugs. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

The little guy is 15 years old....have you jacked up the front end and checked for loose tie rods/ball joints c bushings, steering column play, etc? I would still check your front u joints and drive shaft for being "in phase". How's the pinion gear/u joint?

even though you replaced the u-joints 6 months ago, they are still one of the very first things you should check.
i had a (non-ford) truck many years back that liked nothing better than to chew up a u-joint every few months. sold it before i ever figured out what was wrong with it.
