I have a vibration which seems to come from my driveline, around 30 to 40 mph. Vibration is pretty strong. It does not matter , if i am in gear or just coasting out of gear.. all u-joints are new and i replaced the front section of my driveshaft while doing the swap to manual.. It does not appear to come from any of the tires..
is the dive shaft in phase if not it will vibrate like a b..... what i am talking about is the yokes on the shaft section need to be straight to each other if you are off a few splines it will vibrate
I think I need some more explanation on this . ..
All I did was removed the u- joints from the new (used ) front section and installed it with new u joints to my stock rear section. Front and back joints are new as well....
What Ronnie said. Double check to make sure all the cross bearings are in phase. Its possible you could be just one spline off when you mated the two sections together causing the u-joints to be out of phase.
I'm kinda still a little lost but try to understand..since I have not taken any splines apart.. So what you are saYing is, that all u- joints need the be aligned the same way if I look straight down the drive line..
Yes All u joints need to be aligned the same way. From what i read it sounded like you tok the front part of one multiple piece driveline and mated it to the rear of another. Usually this is done at the slip joint which is splined and one could easily slip it back together a spline or two off from being in phase if not being very careful.
I will check the alignment tomorrow.. But I did not joint them at the slip joint though.. I used the entire front section of the manual tranny , inclusive the carrier bearing and joint it to the rear original section of my truck. The manual and the automatic rear sections are the same length.. And when I got the parts for the swap, the rear section out of the donor truck had a dent, therefore I used my original rear part.. But I guess, there could be the issue, of not being aligned I guess

Could be the carrier bearing. Swap it with your original and see if it still does it.
i blocked up the rear end, and put the truck in gear to see my problem... the way it looks like, is that my slip joke is bend.. wiggels like a rat tail..
I guess, when the prev. owner on the donor truck bend the rear drive shaft, they messed up the slip joke as well... Now.. since i sold already all my auto stuff.. i do not have the original joke.. seems like, i will be doing another trip to the junk yard.. i know, they have at least one or two more drive shafts
i did made a short video, but can’t figure out , how to upload it to this page
Sounds like you found the problem. I would be interested in seeing the video. You could upload it to youtube and then post a link or imbed the video in this thread.
Who says anything about jack stands ? I had 2 cinder blocks and a couple 2x4 under the rear axle and I only had it in 5th gear doing no more than 40mph
Question: do I have to get a complete front driveshaft with yoke, or can I just get a different yoke from another diesel ? And does the yoke just pull out after loosening the boot ?
