OK guys, here are the specifics.
2003 Limited, V10, 4x4, 178K miles. Running factory sized tires.
Within the last month or so, the truck started exhibiting a vibration at certain speeds. This vibration is felt at right around 2,000 RPMs (55-60 mph in 3rd, 70 mph in OD) and is only present when the vehicle is under load. By that, I mean if we are coasting, there is not vibration. I have been under the truck and suspect that the rear drive shaft U joints are the cause, specifically the rear u joint. I can't move the drive shaft but one of the dust covers (seals) is obviously pulled away from the cap. My theory is that this is likely the root cause of this vibration.
Your thoughts? No matter what, I am replacing the U joints tomorrow. I'm just curious if you all agree that this is the cause.
