That's good to know, I'll have to call back. Last year I was doing several data logging runs and on different days had to go thru all that again, ugg!

Would it be possible for you to list what functions/gauges you get out of it? Maybe some video? Or, pics? I am really interested in how well these work on these trucks. I understand, if you have no time for all that. It is a large request.

I need to go thru the list in the owner's manual and check off the sensors that are read by the Interceptor. And for another thread I started elsewhere I need to vid the HPOP pressure readings during a full throttle run. I'll share both here.

So, the Interceptor will do just about everything AE will do? Did you say it will buzz test, read and clear codes? I may now be leaning that direction. I am fixing to finally make the purchase.

I am by no means knowledgeable on the AE, and I do not know what the Interceptor does or does not read that the AE does. But I am %98 sure that they both read the same sensors.

Yes, the Interceptor reads and clears codes, does the buzz and the contribution tests.

Plus, you mount it in a gauge pod and it is ALWAYS with you giving you data.

But....the AE is much better at data logging and displaying its data graphically...when you have its cigarette pack sized OBD port read connected and a laptop or Windows based PC connected.

Garage only or multiple vehicles? AE

Everyday life? Interceptor.

Well sounds like AE for my toy shop. And Interceptor for my personal truck! I'll buy the AE first. I have 1 truck in build mode right now, and 1 waiting to be. One, I'm gonna keep. One I'm gonna part with to help offset the cost of the other.

Ok, I called AE. They say if I have no OBD2 port on my 95 it wont work. And, if the pcm hasn't been flashed it wont work? I cant seem to find the obd2 port on mine? Should be right there under the steering column? Correct?

Well, all I found under the glove box, was a square connector.

That's the one. Look closer; it's trapezoid-shaped, not rectangular.

Now don't ask me why it's pointed downward instead of toward the occupant. We have two '95s; one had it pointing aft and the other had it pointing downward. No freaking idea why, other than that they were built in two different factories. If you look closely at the connector, you see you can re-mountint pointing aft. Makes it much easier to plug in a device.

If the truck has ever been serviced at a dealer, it's probably been flashed to use that connector.

How would I know if it has been flashed? AE wont work? If it hasn't been flashed, is it a simple take it to the dealer, and say "Flash my truck"? LOL

If the truck has been flashed, and you set up AE properly (Ford Enhanced feature activated, "Non-OBD-II" in the Communication parameters, etc), then it should communicate. If it doesn't, and you confirm all the right AE settings, then that would suggest the PCM has not been flashed.

This is what I do:

Plug AE into OBD II port
Put cord in computer, then into AE
key on
open program
Select vehicle then communication configuration
select usb & J1850pwm-non OBD II only
vehicle, connect, select Ford, not Ford Europe then the year
Model is powerstroke 7.3
Enhanced powertrain
