Maybe get 1/2" milled off of your current bellhousing? Maybe 1/4" in front and 1/4" in the rear?
I'm sure many of us would loan you a 1/2" if we had a 1/2" to spare...
Good luck with your project...
.
Very tempting idea, and is on the short list. My brother is a machinest, and ill be bringing him the trans and two bellhousings tomorrow with my goal measurements.
Either we shorten a c5ta bellhousing, or modify the ansen bellhousing to accept the toploader since its about a half inch shorter deck to deck length.
That could possibly cause starter to bell housing problem ? 1/2" on the trans side wouldn't leave many threads for the trans to bolt to.
Provided there is enough physical meat to grab too, i would drill and re tap for starter. Its a long shot, but even if i take an eight from both sides of the bellhousing and space the flywheel a quarter, it would bring me to my target.
Good ideas guys, i was really worried this was going to be a dud thread but great discussion is sprouting.
My appologies for not being quick responding as id like too....holidays and my daily (03 f250 6.0) being in the shop sucks up my attention.
