Odd MFT Nav Issue

I've noticed that if I zoom in while on the navigation screen all the streets disappear. If I zoom out enough, the main streets start to show up, but then it's useless since the there's not enough detail, such as when driving in town. I don't even get decent detail when I have an active destination; just the green highlighted route pasted onto a blank screen. I don't recall the MFT navigation in my Focus being this way, but it's pretty much been parked since I bought the truck.

Anyone else have this issue? I've tried messing around with a bunch of the nav settings without luck. I'm going to be making an appointment to take it to the dealer to have them replace a defective foglight lens as well as look at a small defect in my driver side seat cover, and I'll add this to my list of things for them to look at if I need to.

Thanks!

Hi SHOpar,

Have you tried removing the navigation SD card and re-inserting?

Which SD card is in the vehicle and have you tried a master reset: https://owner.ford.com/how-tos/sync-...ter-reset.html

Also, when you refer to a blank screen are you talking about the street names or is the screen completely blank?

Thanks for the reply Whitney!

I'm not sure which SD card is in the truck right now, but it's pretty new, as the truck was a custom order that was built and delivered in October. I'll try pulling the card out and reinserting it. If that doesn't work, I'll attempt a master reset. I'll also fire up the nav on my Focus tonight to see if there's a difference between the two.

As far as my reference to a blank screen, it's grid of streets and their names that aren't showing up, but it always correctly displays the name of the street I'm currently driving on at the top and on the home screen. When on the nav screen, basically all I get is the vehicle icon in a sea of gray. If I have an active route, there will be a green line showing the active route, too.

I'll keep you posted if pulling the SD card or performing a master reset fixes the issue.

Thanks again!

I ran out and removed and reinstalled the SD card as you suggested and that seems to have fixed the problem! Once it figured out I was no longer in Michigan after the reset, it pulled up all the local streets and continued to show them even zoomed all the way in. Thanks for the tip; I'm glad the fix was this easy!

As far as the SD card that was in there, it was labeled as "A6." Does this version have the most up-to-date maps?

Thanks again for the help!

Great, SHOpa! I'm glad that did the trick and you're very welcome.

A6 is the latest map version available for your vehicle. You can obtain map updates here when they are released: Nav.Expert | Navigation.com
