Hi all. We took a decent trip today, and put the Nav in my '19 to the test. On the way home, the Nav would throw up an "alternate" route (try to re-route some strange way), then the estimated arrival time would adjust accordingly. Like add 2 or 3 hours to the trip. It would go back to the original route, but the estimated time would take a while to reset. Sometimes reducing the time by a few minutes in a couple of seconds. We have another trip coming up soon (Houston to central Florida), and I'm a bit worried about the false re-routing. I won't be able to get it the the dealer before then. Is there a reset or something I could try if it does it again? I hope this makes sense, it's a little hard to describe.
I think if you rely solely on your truck's nav, you'll be disappointed in the outcome. I just use mine for general maps of street names, not for actual navigation. It's much easier and more reliable to use my phone.
I thought Sync 3 had android auto in it and the iphone equivalent? If so, you should be able to use their nav apps and be much better off.

I would sure like to use the truck nav only. I know in the past it has not been very good. But I really had hoped it would be better by now. I just don't understand why the auto makers have such a difficult time with this. The technology has been around for a long time.
I do have an iPhone and CarPlay. And it works pretty well. I was just hoping not to have an external source for my nav. And to get CarPlay working, other stuff has to be turned off, or can't be used at the same time. It's not an elegant solution by any means. Hell, I might as well update my Nuvi and stick it back in there

can also try a master reset if the re-routing is already turned off.
I will look and see if there is a setting for this. I will also have to read up on the route choices a little more (shortest, fastest, most economic). The first two come up with some very strange routing results.
