Dome and bed Lights flickering on and off. HELP
I currently own a 2002 F250 v8 with just over 35k miles (Yes i know its barely any). Anyways just recently i went out to the truck in the morning and it wouldnt start. I threw the charger on it and let it charge for the day. When i got home i took it off and it started right up and i drove around for a sec and everything worked fine. Well once i turn the truck off and remove the keys, everything turns off like normal, except that after about 30 seconds or so the dome and be lights flicker on and off continuously along with the radio turning back on. The truck will do this basically until the battery dies again. i remove the cover under the steering wheel and i'm able to hear a clicking sound going on and off behind the fuse box. Any help would be greatly appreciated because im tired of having to ask my dad to take his car to and from school everyday! Thanks for your time!

It sounds like the GEM box is bad. I have a 2001 F550 and mine was bad. It bolts to the fusebox with 3 screws. It has relays in it and sounds like the relay that turns the lights off after 30 sec is bad. I paid around $110 for it but i bought it under my towing company name so i didn't pay tax. you have to take yours out and exchange it for a New one or they charge you a $50 core. Just to let you know you will be getting a rebuilt one. My dealer parts guy said they don't have the parts to make new ones so they rebuild them. I had to wait 2 months for mine because some of the parts they could get were back ordered. These GEM boxes are NOT all the same so don't go to the junk yard and get one like i did. They used my VIN number to tell which one i needed.

I had a similar issue with my dome lights being on and a rather loud audible clicking under the dash. The weeks prior my battery was draining rather quickly as well. Battery and alternator checked out good, cleaned the terminals. I did end up replacing the flasher relay under the dash. Best advice is try this first, less than $20 through Ford. When installing I went through the stereo hole, ash tray is possible however the cover on the relays is old and stiff. Second link will lead you directly to the location.
