I'm Stumped!!

Went to start, and thought I heard some strange quick noise under the dash.

Turned key on, no instrument lights, no power to anything.

Relay #1 under dash (interior lights) is clicking while interior light is dimly dimly blinking. Only sign of power any where in truck.

Batteries measure 12.75 (ds) and 12.34 (ps).

Had a guy provide a jump.

After connecting cables, turned key on, everything lit up normally, then within 2 secs, go back to orig problem state and no start or power except for clicking relay and slow blinking interior light.

Stuck now in Vegas without a clue where to go on a Friday.

I'm thinking its battery time. Mine went pretty much over night. The batts had normal voltage, but not enough amps to turn the engine over.
I also heard some strange clicking/ weak buzzing under the dash.
Had your batts load tested at a parts store. It's usually free.
Walmart has decent batts at a decent price, and if they ever let you down its not hard to find a store to return them.

My truck flashed the interior lights like that when the batteries were dying. I just had a simple multimeter and while the voltage checked out, the amperage was way low. I couldn't tell that with a multimeter.

Had my batteries load tested and they both failed miserably. Replacing both corrected my problems. Recommend having your batteries tested with a load tester.

X3 on the batteries... my batteries got so bad that my truck slowly started shutting down while I was driving, dimming lights, radio failure, then truck quit, same thing, gauges go haywire and then nothing.

Like said, get your batteries tested and plan on grabbing a couple new ones. On a side note, if one battery tests bad and the other good, GET TWO!

Good luck, if it turns out to be something more, let me know. I can make some phone calls and help find you a quality shop in Vegas. If I still lived there, I would be on call to lend a hand of course!

"preciate all the comebacks. I suspect batteries also.

BUTTTT, really tough to go get them tested or buy new ones if your only vehicle won't start, and parts houses/WallyWorld are miles away.

Its at a shop now and hopefully thats all it'll turn out to be.

My dash lights freaked out like that when my gem and fuse box were water drunk.
I had the similar no starter engage symptom for 2 turns of the key but then started working.
Being that you are in vegas i couldnt imagine the commonly known "leaky windshield" syndrome being your culprit in this case... but the symptoms being so similar i thought i might bring it up. The fix for my leaky windshield syndrome ended up being a reseal job on my cab marker lights.

What did the shop tell you? Interested to hear the resolution in case you've got something more serious on your hands than a pair of batts. Hope it's that simple though.

If you have not already done so, I suggest pulling battery cables and thoroughly cleaning both cables and posts (all four) many batteries are sold because of a bad connection. Just say'in.

Edit: sorry I was late to the party, please post resolution.

Sorry for the delay in posting the fix. No WiFi for awhile now.

It was the batteries. Even though a digital meter showed good voltage, they went "south" whenever any type of load hit them.

Hercules is back doing his "thang"!

They can show 12 volts all day long but if it doesn't the amps your dead in the water. Glad you got it taken care of.
