I'm needing a way to calibrate my speedometer. I run 37" tires. And it seems to be at least 5 MPH off. Which in turn also puts my odometer off
I'm looking into the hypertech. But I'm wondering if anybody else has used one? On the notes it says it updates via Internet also for a max energy programmer (which I don't really need. And is my main concern ) i already run a DP tuner and I'm hoping that by using the hypertech to calibrate my speedo that it won't screw with my DP?
If it is possible I wouldn't mind running the max energy as a programmer and the DP together , but I've heard it isn't possible to run a programmer and chip at the same time ?
One more thing is that my brother in law bought a 99 SD 7.3 a few months back and his came with one of those old school tuners , I think it says ford on it. Anyways it controls your idle and stuff. I talked him into a TS6 and he swears and be-dangs that he can run them both at the same time. He says he had to turn off the old school one because with them both every time he drove in the rain and punched it the rear end wanted to break loose.
Anyways sorry this is so long. Just wanted to ask y'alls oppinion, whether it's worth the 230$
The speedometer calibration can be changed pretty easily with AE. At the cost of the unit you linked to, you'd already be two-thirds of the way to the cost of AE anyhow.
As far as a school bus "tuner" goes, it's more likely the APCM (idle controller). Does it look like the one in this thread?
I agree with getting the Auto Enginuity. It is great diagnostic tool, and the tire size calibrator for the ABS module is a plus. We'll worth the extra expense over the Hypertech. BTW, I used the Speed Calibrator before I purchased the AE and the tire size option was available.
Well what do you mean before you purchased ? Is there some sort of trial or demo?
No. I didn't know about Auto Enginuity at the time, and also the tire size flash capability was not available at that time. If I had waited, I could have killed two birds with one stone.
