E4od shift improvements ??

So I gotta 96 f250 with a chipped 7.3 that I use for daily driving and towing the horses. And the truck has a rebuilt tranny with a shift kit, cooler, better clutches and billet tq converter. But I still need firmer shifts. I was thinking about installing the b&m shift improver chip to ramp up my oil pressure or try to find a more aggressive shift kit. Anyone tried the b&m chip ? Will it work with my 6 position chip ?

I don't have a definite answer for you, but I will say this. Be very careful when combining mechanical shift kits with tuner or electronic shift kits that just boost pressure. It has a tendency to break hard parts.

Granted this was a GM trans but shock loading hard parts is pretty much universal.

If it were me I'd leave it alone but that's just me. On a side note and not to get off track but it sounds like you have a mean truck. What kind of torq you putting down w your set up and does that thing blow the black smoke w the chip? That motor will run for 500k+ miles

Oh yeah for sure, I was just wanting my shifts to be a little more firm because I really don't feel the shift kit. And thanks yep she's a coal roaler lol nothing crazy of course, and iv never dynoed it but just by running the numbers I'm putting out about 840 ft pounds of torque . But of course I don't use all the torque while towing

Wow, beautiful truck! I wish mine looked that nice. Where did you get your headlight assemblies from? They look great. I need to replace mine as they are seriously sandblasted and a bit yellowed.

Well I went ahead and ordered and installed the b&m shift improver chip and I really like it. It really helped give me that last bit of firmness I needed and its got 3 adjustments
