chip or shift kit
I have a 93 f-150 4x4 with a 302 and a full exhaust and the tranny shifts WAY too soft and takes forever to shift.What would be better a shift kit or chip to add firmness.Whats healthier for the tranny and I want to still use 87 octane but I would have to pay for installation of the shift kit but not the chip.

yeah I have read that most chips require you to run higher octane fuel and I don't think they could improve actual shifting firmness much , just shift points , I would definatly go with the shift kit if you want real results

I would think so , with a shift kit it engages much firmer therefore slipping less which I think would be better on everything in the transmission , probably not as good for U joints and rear ends though , o well , firmer shift means less slipping and less slipping is less heat so I would think it almost has to be better.
