Hi Everyone, I'm new here and need some help with this thing. The drivers side turbo locked up and blew oil out the exhaust, I replaced it with a brand new one and got a used one for the passenger side that only has 7k miles on it. We cleaned out all the oil from the intake piping, cac, etc. Now, we got it all put back together, cleared the codes and it was miss firing.
Checked the codes and here is what we have
1. P054A - Camshaft position timing over bank 1
2. P0430 - Catalyst system Bank 2
3. P0299- Turbo/Supercharger underboost
4. P054C- Camshaft position timing over bank 2
5.P0301- Cylinder 1 Misfire
6.P0304- Cylinder 4 Misfire
So we cleared out the codes again
, it was running a little smoother. You could here the turbos spool up this time. Drove it around the block and as soon as it hit boost, it s smoking like a freight train again. Got all the same codes again. Any ideas. Please Help!!!
Sorry for the delay, this forum doesn't see the traffic that some of our bigger ones do.
All I can guess is that something with the circuit for the VCT system was disconnected or damaged during the turbo replacement. Bad camshaft timing would cause low compression and misfiring, which could then cause a cat inefficiency code.
