Whitney, I do not have the myford touch. I did indeed download the update from my account on the Sync portion of the Ford owners site and it was the recommended download for my VIN. The three files in my first screenshot are what came in the download. autoinstall.lst, install.lst, and the folder titled syncmyride which contained all the files shown in the second screenshot. There was not a DONTINDX.MSA file in the download and I've downloaded it a couple of times to make sure the files weren't corrupt and I get the same two files and one folder each time. Any thoughts Whitney?

That explains a it. LOL Thanks, Karl4Cat! The DONTINDX.MSA file is only found in updates for MyFord Touch.

The way it is displayed in your picture is correct.

Which SYNC system do you have: How to identify your SYNC version | Official Ford Owner Site

Let me know and we'll go from there.

Karl4Cat,

Insert the USB with your vehicle running. Press AUX, then MENU, scroll to SYSTEM SETTINGS, press OK, scroll to ADVANCED, press OK, scroll to INSTALL APPLICATIONS, and press OK.

Let me know if that works.

Whitney, thanks much! Worked like a charm. No where on the online update instructions did it tell me the way you explained it. Perhaps the only instructions I found online were for the more advanced versions. Also, it only took about 5 minutes but did confirm it was updated successfully. Maybe it was quicker based on my basic Sync system? Oh, and like a previous poster, the only problem that remains is when I go to update your website, I select the .xml file that my truck placed on the USB stick but it doesn't upload.

EDIT: Found the issue with the upload. Firefox on MAC didn't upload the file. I did it in Chrome and the file uploaded successfully. So, case closed...

Great, Karl4Cat. We're working to get those instructions updated. I'm glad that worked for you.

Have a great day!

Tried to run a "Vehicle Health Report" in preparation to update the system and got a message "Low Mileage, Report Can't Run Until Approximately 200 Miles on Odo".
Truck has 250 miles since last trip meter reset and 10,500 miles on the odometer.

2015 F-350 with Nav..

Suggestions?

I've never run one since I bought the truck in 2012 and don't even have my cell linked to it. Just do the update and don't worry about it.

I just did the update on my 2012 tonight and it worked like a charm. Although the instructions were missing a couple of steps, I hacked my way through it, no problem.

I still had the original factory version of Sync on the truck because my prior attempt to update it was not successful and I just gave up.

I really appreciate you being here to help us with issues like this, Whitney.

It demonstrates real "service after the sale".

I am hoping that this update will correct the intermittent problem I have had where the Line In will not connect up sometimes after starting the truck. I have learned, through trial and error, to switch to radio, then to CD and let it play, then switch back to AUX and the Line In works again.

Electronic gremlins...

Whitney, sent you a PM last week with the info. Just need a recommendation as to course of action. Maybe just download and try to force that bad boy in there? I'm not sure as to why it is saying I have another account on my phone. How many danged things can it be tied to?

You're welcome, tjcanno. I'm glad to help! The audio source issue is to be resolved with the next SYNC update. Make sure you're keeping up with your SYNC account: https://owner.ford.com/tools/account...p-to-date.html

Remember I'm always lurking in the shadows if you have any questions.

Sorry for the delay, JimPat.

I'm checking it out for you now.

I noticed it reset my Back up camera options. I had to go back in and reset them to having a delay and get rid of those colored blocks that obscure the hitch I'm trying to back up to.

Same here, but it didn't wipe out my POI's in navigation this time, so that was good. It also left my sound settings alone. It still forgets to play music sometimes though when I first start up.

Failed update.

[QUOTE=Just Strokin;15849183]I did this update back in October. Took about 30 minutes and the truck MUST be running the whole time the update is going on. Update went great without any problems.

The only problem was trying to report the update on Ford owner site. If you have this problem on the owner website reporting the update, do not worry. As soon as you can, run a Vehicle Health Report and the status on the owner website will be updated to show you Sync revision installed.

The 2016 may already have the update. You can check the status of your Sync on the Ford Owner website. My 2016 fusion came with it already installed

This link should take you to the page to check for Sync revisions.

https://owner.ford.com/tools/account...e-history.html

If not, Log into your account on Ford Owner site, click the Sync How Tos tab and then Check for Sync Updates and then on right side under you vehicle info click Full Sync History.

This is what the update does for you:

EA5T-14D544-AD

ABOUT THE LATEST UPDATE

The new software update for SYNC® with MyFord Touch® systems includes all the improvements from previous updates, plus additional benefits such as:

Siri® Eyes Free*:

Now iPhone users can use Siri® Eyes Free with SYNC® with MyFord Touch®. With simple voice commands, SYNC® with MyFord Touch® enables you to operate the iPhone and SYNC® together. Siri® Eyes Free can be activated by pressing and holding the voice button for at least 3 seconds.

Secure, simple phone pairing:

Phone pairing is now easier.

Automatic reconnection:

If your phone disconnects, SYNC® with MyFord Touch® will automatically reconnect it.

Easier entry of destinations for China:

Now SYNC® with MyFord Touch® allows for easier entry of destinations.

*Feature requires compatible hardware.[/QUOTe
After update menu option and phone pairing does not work, can not acess master reset on my Sync with nav on my KR 2015 f250. I suspect that the update was not fully installed. Any suggestions Whitney?
