I have an '84 with a 3 speed overdrive , last night I was driving and it started to slip and then 5 mins later I had no clutch at all. I never had a clutch go this fast before and it didn't even smell at all. So before I change out my clutch I wanted to know if there is any adjustments I can check or any ideas from you Guys. Thank you.
When you say no clutch at all is it slipping that bad it won't move or nothing on the pedal when pushed?
Not knowing the clutch linkage setup does it us rods & bell cracks or hydraulic?
If hydraulic have you checked the fluid level? I have not known of a justments on a hydraulic setup. If levels good then bad clutch master or slave cyl.

It won't slip at all , you can place it in gear and just sit there and nothing. And the fluid level is good and the slave is moving the arm down below.

Ok think we need to clear something up here.
If you put it in gear and it does not move I would say it is slipping or not engaging.
Fluid level is good-ck
Slave is moving-ck
truck not moving-ck
bad pressure plate-ck
It sounds like the pressure plate took a dump and is not putting pressure on the disk. When it was slipping a little is was starting to go. pressed on the clutch and guess it did it in.
Time for a clutch disc, PP, throw out bearing and reface the flywheel. Some also replace the pilot bushing/bearing at this time too.

Consider going to the 11" rather than 10" clutch. It is much beefier and Ford offered both. The flywheel normally is machined for either. You do have to change the pressure plate bolts [easy and inexpensive].
First let me say I am totally not familiar with the 3 speed overdrive transmission. Obviously something with the drivetrain has failed, but I wonder if it is the clutch(or related parts) that has failed.
Is the linkage to the shift the transmission on the side of the transmission, rather than the shift lever sit on top and inside the transmission? Have you tried putting the transmission in third(which I assume would be the direct gear)? Thinking here maybe something failed with the countershaft in the transmission. Just some thoughts.

The OP said it slipped a little then would not move.
A stick trany will not "slip" when or if bad, it will make all kinds of BAD noise!
Even if the linkage was not right the trany would not slip it just would not go into or out of gears.
Only thing that can slip and not make the truck move is the clutch assy.
And this goes for both 4x2 & 4x4 trucks.
Can you pull a cover to the clutch assy. and take a look at the PP/clutch disc?
Dave ----
So I pulled the trans today and wow lol the clutch was so bad the pressure plate side has no friction material , I don't no how it drive this long without issues , I'll post some pics later
Well I thought it would be something with the clutch but I was thinking pressure plate not the disc
Don't know where you live or if you are doing this outside but if you are where it gets cold & the white stuff and doing it outside it could of been worst if it happened a few months later
