Hey guys been reading til my eyes hurt. If I missed a post with my issues I apologize. I have a 95 f150 e4od with the 4.9 I6. It has just under 240,000. I bought it 8 months ago and it had a few issues of which one still has me pulling out my hair. The 2-3 shift winds high rpm and slams into 3 hard. It seems to neutral for a second between, but not slipping. It only does this under normal acceleration conditions. Under low slow acceleration it shifts beautiful like a new trans. If I go WOT in second it still shifts at a high rpm but the shift is what u would expect with the petal thru the floor board. It is only the 2-3 shift only under normal petal. I have tested the tps and closed is .9v and wot 4.7. I've got no codes. Nothing under current, cm, or koer. Including immediately after a half hour highway drive to be certain of temps. I pull and haul alot so I'm not ready to rebuild as even loaded plus trailer there is no slippage at all even in 3rd. Just had it in for fluid and filter with no change and shop told me internals looked incredible especially for the year and mileage. Any ideas, this has finally started to drive me crazy, litterally
How involved is that. I'm very mechanically inclined. My expertise with tranny is replacing them lol. Would that explain it being only that shift? If I lay into it after it gets into 3rd the downshift to second is fine. I'm in no way downing you just need to be sure and know what I am getting into. I'm self employed landscaper barely making it pay to pay for my family and that truck is my bread and butter
Do you know much about mlps? I had read some things on here and just messed with it and I don't think the results are normal. Yes I'm still under this thing with every idea at 40° lol

your in luck then.this will be a far, far, far easier and a much more enjoyable job than trans replacement.
EDIT:
oops im sorry.don't buy that one from amazon.the 6 cyl version of the e4od apparently uses a smaller bore there.this is the one you need i think; http://www.sonnax.com/parts/2109-1-2...trol-valve-kit
