2011 F350 with the rear window defroster not working on the slider window, just the glass that slides. Anyone else had this problem?
I had them look at when it was in for other warranty work and the dealership says it is not covered by the ESP. I looked up the ESP and it states that it covers heated back glass(electrical only). The dealership says it is considered glass and it isn't covered. If it was the outer sides of the back window it wouldn't bother me, but it is the center piece.
I had it looked at a while back when the truck was in for different warranty work and they supposedly fixed it, it was never fixed but I just thought I would get it fixed next time I was in there instead of just going in for that. Last time I was there I was under the 60K mile warranty and it is covered under that, but not the ESP supposedly. Bad dealership or just live with it?

Hi okiman,
I'll do some digging and see what options are available to assist with the defroster. How many miles are on your truck currently?
The dealer is telling me since I didn't bring it back as soon as I noticed it wasn't working after they supposedly fixed it, I am responsible for the repair and it will be $950 for the whole window to be replaced since just the slider cant be replaced. But I think it should be covered under the ESP warranty, hopefully Crystal can help me out.
This is at Beach Ford in Va Beach, I have always had a hard time having them do any work. They didn't want to fix the shift flare and said they couldn't duplicate it until I brought them the TSB for it.
Let's get this escalated up to your regional customer service manager (CSM). Since you don't have many posts, you may not have access to PMs yet. If that's the case, send an email to custserv@ford.com with your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, current mileage, and servicing dealership. This email address isn't actively monitored, so please put my name ("Crystal") in the subject line and post here once you've sent it. That's how I'll know to go and hunt down your message.

I just got your email and sent a reply, okiman. Let me know when you hear from your regional customer service manager (CSM).

I received a call from the CSM this morning letting me know that it is covered under warranty. I also received a call from the dealer saying they are ordering the window and will give me a call when it gets in, I will just need to pay the $100 deductible again.
Thank you for the help Crystal, I really appreciate it.
