Rear Window not Working

The rear most drivers side window, behind the spare, is not working. It has been intermittent since new but always worked at the dealer. Now its out of warranty. Any ideas?

Mine just stopped working, They used to stick alot, but once open they would operate. I might have blown a fuse. See if you can push lightly on the window while someone pushes the button. Might just be sticking to the rubber. Mine do especially after the winter when they havent been opened in a while.

Mine were working intermittantly as well and stopped for a while, then worked again after a few weeks. I had two new motors installed under warranty and they have been fine since.

The windows do tend to stick to the rubber some though, try to gently push teh window a little as someone hits the botton. Dont get silly and push too hard, just try to help em a lil and see if it comes loose. With it getting warm outside that may be your problem. Also, try rocking the switch back and forth for a couple seconds, that usually got mine working.

I just had the same problem with mine with the same window. Luckily it was still under warranty and all i told the dealer was it didnt work some of the time. They tried it and it worked but they still replaced the motor for me. Sounds like its a common problem

What I do to prevent them from sticking is spray silicon on a clean rag and with window open from inside wipe weather striping down and this seems to work for me.

I do not recall which is which, but on my Excursion one rear window will open with the ignition key off.

The other only opens with the ignition key on for some reason.

Both of mine work only when the key is in, sounds like your truck may have had the wiring played with in some way?

That's what I said, both of mine work with the key on.

But only one of them will work with the key off.

I used to have the same problem with my X. Had the motors replaced, same thing. Tried the silicone on the weather seal and not one issue since.

Mine work better when the RPMs are up but I am afraid to open them with all the falling out issues in here and the $800 price tag to fix it.

What part of your window fell off? The side w/ the motor actuator. Are both sides of the window just attached w/ epoxy?

my old 2004 xlt, the right side vent window fell out of the truck from the front mounts. only area holding it was the rear mount.

the whole window has to be replaced. i had them go with a cheaper and easier option of replacing it with a FIXED window that came in the lower model excursions. thus no more venting (bolted in) no more possible issues.

i have a feeling my issue came from a shoddy glass repair, but either way i have been very wary of the vent windows since then.

the final bill the insurance got was alittle over $1600 for the window.

While we're on the subject, my motors whine loudly while opening....what's that all about??
