Serpentine Belt
I took my 2004 F250 6.0 Diesel somewhere yesterday to get the Serpentine Belt replaced as well as find out which power steering hose,needs to be replaced. They told me the Belt Tensioner MUST be replaced EVERYTIME the Belt is replaced. i have 6 years experience selling auto parts and have never heard this. Is thismsomething new??? Can someone shed some light on this for me??? They did not do the work because they closed at 4:00PM EST.

Up selling to make their bonus.... However it is a wear item that should be replaced as maintenance, and a 100k sounds reasonable to me. I would recommend buying a reputable brand tho. The belt is a PIT@ to change in the garage let alone on the side of the road.

I had a tensioner pulley seize up on me less than 15k miles after changing the drive belt leaving me dead on the side of the road. All of the idler and tensioner pulleys felt good when I changed the drive belt. The truck was @ 115k when that pulley seized so I will change out the tensioner every 100k miles.
