I was noticing today how noisey the belt was on my truck.
I sprayed belt conditioner on it and all the belt noise went away.
Does this mean it's time for a new belt or just keep using the belt conditioner ?
Thanks
I replaced my first belt at ~98k miles. It started developing an rhythmic tick about 100k miles later, so I recently replaced it again and all is well.
I view the belt conditioner as a bandaid personally. You either have a worn belt or a pulley. Either way need to take care of it before something bad happens. Ask me how I know
I reccomend the Goodyear Gaterback belt. Always have had good luck with them. The pulleys go out with no warning and that normally takes out the belt also.
Well, I just replaced my power steering pump thinking that was the cause of the noise.
But it wasn't so a lot of work when I could have just replaced the belt.
I'll pickup a new belt next week and replace it and keep the old one for emergency sake.
Thanks everyone, live and learn..
