What I used was a parts store reman (remaned ford part) from an after market house that is made in the US. I trust the parts guy, not a salesman, a fellow gearhead I've known since I can remember. A "sleeved gear housing" can mean several things. When he told me that the EOM wear point (problem) was fixed by being bushed with bronze, I was in. Also, my mechanic friend recommended the parts and said hes used them for years without issue, I had no problem with my choice. Trust me, I was not screwed over and I have full confidence in the parts on my truck. I also saved a couple hundred going this route. Parts and installation were less than others part only price. I have nice tight steering and absolutely no wander.

A bronze bushing doesn't "fix" the wear point problem , it repairs a damaged case. The "problem" is leverage and friction.

I was not trying to insinuate you were "screwed over". That is something you can decide on your own. I was simply presenting the facts. I threw in the salesman comment because it sounds exactly like how parts guys spew out their nonsense.

If you don't mind sharing, who is remanufacturing steering boxes in the USA that sells through parts stores ? The last 2 motorcraft steering gears I bought were remanufactured in Mexico.

Correct, leverage and friction on inferior materials (cast iron)......I'll see if I can find out who the reman house is.
