2000 Expy steering loose problem
Hey all,
Had a wandering steering problem and read many threads on the subject and started moving towards adjusting the steering box. As I got into it, I found a completely different problem that nobody has touched on yet! I pulled the steering shaft out of the vehicle after detecting the slop somewhere before the steering box. To my surprise, I found almost all of the splines in the lower universal joint gone! Had I ignored this problem, this definitely would have resulted in a complete loss of steering. I've attached some photos of what I discovered. I had to pull the inner wheel well to see the problem. Needless to say, a complete new steering shaft is in order. Hope this helps!!

That just adds to the weirdness of it all. 
With the bolt being tight there should've been no movement, hence no wear of the splines.
