My highboy has a '73 cab, and passenger door, but a '79 driver's side door. It does not fit well. It catches on the drip rail, and is close to catching the front fender. It also closes too far, if that makes sense. There is a significant overlap or step from the cab to the door when fully closed. Would a different door help this or is something wrong with the cab? Also, there is no weatherstrip on the door; I meet to get some. Would this have an effect? I will get a picture soon. Thanks in advance!
Thank you for the quick reply. The door needs to be closed far beyond where it should, in order to latch completely. Would weatherstrip alleviate that or is that in issue based solely on the mechanical engagement of the door latch?
I am not familiar with the adjustment of the door latch, but I would assume it is adjustable for when the latch catches... either the striker pin or latch should be movable.
Is the striker pin what the latch catches on? If so, it appears to be just bolted into the cab. The latch is held in with three screws, and it does not look like adjustment is possible. Wouldn't make sense, considering that you would think that there should be a provision for adjusting the door in this manner.
Thank you for the input! So the striker is indeed the unit with the plastic roller on it that the latch catches on? It appears to have a large torx head in it. I will do some adjusting and report back.
