EBP readings?

I programmed by scangauge II to read EBP and just was wondering what are normal readings for EBP (Exhaust Back Pressure). On idle it runs around 15 and it you nail it the highest I have seen is 25 and then just cruising it is around 17. I am very close to sea level, ambient is around 14.7.

Just wondering if it looks like I need to clean the tube and sensor.

FYI, I have the 4 in MPBR exhaust with a muffler. Or is it MBRP? or MRBP?

If the highest that you have seen is 25 PSI, then I would say that is low or else my gauge is way off.

Maybe the tube is clogged, I see you have a E99, which has a different Turbo setup?

Not sure on the e 99. But my 02 is your boost plus ambient. So 15 at idle with 14.7 ambient is bang on. 25, hammered is low. Before I blame the sensor I would want to know what my boost was. Stock turbo should read around 34. 19 plus your ambient. Mine now is 60. lol. 45 plus my 15 ambient. Yeeeehaaaa!

I don't think the fact that the turbo is different will have a great affect due to the fact that the E99 turbo supposedly spools faster...I can't tell the difference on the low end.

Since we are talking about plumbing that is coming out of the front of the PS manifold I would think that a leak at the head/manifold, manifold/up pipe, or up pipe/collector could be an issue if the tube is not clogged and the sensor is working and the gauge is correct.

Sorry guys, I was wrong on the high number. I say 35 to 36 when I nailed it. I ran out of road a gears to see If I could get more out of it.

I think I am good, seems to stay 1 to 2 above MAP reading. I checked for any leaks and nothing.

My Glowshift gauges came in today, but UPS destroyed the original box and the fuel pressure gauge along with the drill and tap are Lost. I called to start a claim, but that sucks, since I was going to install over the holidays

15 PSI EBP while idling says the EBP sensor seems to be accurate - you really want to check your MAP and EBP at the same time with the key on and the engine off - the two should be real close to each other.

35-37 PSI EBP at WOT is about on par with a stock truck, and MAP should land you close to 32 PSI at WOT. Chipped trucks with a stock turbo will have the EBP climb fast above this point, but the MAP will climb slow - making a bigger separation between MAP and EBP. Such are the limitations of the stock turbo - it was dialed for stock performance.
