I spent 30 years in the Fire Dept and during that time I was either a member of or Chairman of the committees that specced and designed all of our new apparatus. Leece-Neville was the ONLY alternator manufacturer accepted on our final Engineering contracts. Never had a failure of one on any truck and that's with some pretty hard use, especially before the shift to LED warning lights from the earlier halogens. I can't think of a single component manufacturer that I would have more faith in excellent performance from their products than L-N.
Thanks Tom! It was honestly the only alternator I felt good about. After Michael's experience with DC Power that made him ever so happy and warmed his heart, I figured if International recommended the L-N as an upgrade on the VT275, it was good enough for the VT365 below my hood.
After doing some research, I did find a company that sells rebuild kits. If I have further issues, going to order a rebuild kit and do the work myself. Then I know it is done correctly.
