I am changing the radiator support hardware and noticed that I have two different size holes in the frame, which I am sure neither is correct due to rust. Does anyone know the correct size for these holes? I need to weld the holes smaller. I know it does not matter, but its a 1977 f100, 302 automatic.
Why not just order a set of "frame savers" from the bronco graveyard and weld them in. They're more than just a large washer. First difference is they're much thicker then a washer. Plus they have the correct size and shaped hole cut into them already. They other thing that makes using them so nice is that they are the size that is usually damaged by the rot. Just a thought. Oh and I bought and installed them into my 78 f150 when I put in the new body mounts several years back. I haven't had a issue since. Not even when I cleared 3 feet under the truck.
I welded mine on the bottom,I did not want to remove existing frame steel, your rubber grommet covers it anyway ,they are stout. I used weld primer before welding on my bare steel for rust prevention
