Could be. I tried it on a truck with almost 200,000 miles and it was amazing how much better it worked.

Also if not changing ratios and there isn't anything wrong you can prob skip the bearing kit. You would only need the carrier side bearings. Check before buying as some aftermarket carriers take specific special bearings. I have not researched to know if the Detroit does or not.
If anyone is just skipping right to the end, please see my earlier posts. Aaron I have an exceedingly high value on your knowledge and skill set, so please bear with me. I am an axle idiot and as my posts on here have proven an admitted dummy from time to time. I took a few pics of my axle when I got to work just to see if there is anything I can as to visually reassure me it's full float.

none of the above. the big hub part that sticks out of the wheel is the full floater end. the earlier trucks could have semi floaters but I havent seen any in our era until the half baked 7 lug light duty f250s and 7700 f-150s.

I feel stupid, so I basically need to pop off a hubcap (yea I don't have fancy wheels) and I should see a hub in the center. Correct. And Aaron, thanks as always, when I get out of work I will check it out.

Take those 8 bolts out and the axle shaft will pull right out.

And it will still roll around. That's the important part. No weight load on the shafts
