Ummmmm......... last time I checked, I believe the fuel pump relay is internal to the Central Junction Box (a. k. a. the fuse box under the steering column), and not serviceable separately. That said, do you have any water leaks possibly causing issues with various other accessories that trace back to issues with the CJB getting wet from water leakage?
It's also worth checking the HFCM circuitry closely. Although the few HFCMs I've replaced in the past, usually set a P0232 (fuel pump circuit high input).
Thanks for the post Mike. I was adding the recommendation to check the circuitry (fuses and relay) for the HFCM - just takes awhile to find the diagrams and post. If checking these components is a waste of time for that code - please say so.
I was unaware that the fuel pump relay was not serviceable separately - thank you.
But on this on you will need to call and ask them.
I'll find the one I took apart and post some photos.
I added the fuel pump wiring diagram for you to view. The pump controls are on page 1 & 2.
Question.....would the inertial switch have anything to do with door locks ever? For about a year, we have been having issues with the door locks uncommanded operation, sometimes rapidly in sequence, then it goes away and doesn't do it for awhile...
The door lock problem sounds like an issue with your VSM (Vehicle Security Module). It is up under the dash near the radio located to the right of the gas pedal, just above the transmission hump and below the radio, it is not accessible from the radio opening. You access it from the driver side of the dash.

Took Big Blue to the shop again today. No word yet on the stall issue...Looking at the link you sent regarding the door locks, I see that the VSM throws DTC's as well. Would a regular scanner ( such as the SCT) pick those up?
Not likely. The VSM is a body module and most of the low cost and
engine programers are engine only tools. They really are not scanners.
The higher end scan tools can read that module but not all of them.
I know for sure of 3 that will do to personal use of them.
Ford IDS, Snap On MT2500 (Red Brick) Snap On Solus and the Snap On Modis EEMS300.
You can all to the Modis things like a lab scope.
Back to square one! I was going to write earlier this morning and tell you of our fix, but it is not fixed.
Took to shop, they checked the PO231 code diagnostic, said all that checked out. They said they got a camshaft code and truck not running very well. Installed a camshaft sensor and ran it for awhile, all good.
We picked it up, ran it for a couple of days, starting to relax and think it was fixed - NOT! Headed to the Home Depot and it just died. Started up on first attempt. Drove on to HD and checked codes.
Using our SCT scanner, it said PO231(AGAIN) and PO341 (Camshaft sensor).
Did our shopping and drove home without incident. Off to the dealer on Monday I guess. Our local shop does not seem to have the necessary tools to diagnose and I am already in the hole for $700 ( alternator and camshaft sensor).
Yes you want to return to stock. If they flash it while it tuned you
just got a bill for $150 to get the tuner unlocked. Also some tests
may not give the correct readings id not stock and they they start
chasing ghosts. Guess gets to pay for that.

Its very hard to see mine runs down bye my thermostat then along the front of the block and the other is ran down the front of the engine on the pasenger side its cliped to the webing of the front of the block and its under the AC compressor its very hard to get to but maybe you can wiggle them and see if the issue repeats. I have had this issue and had to run a new wire to the pcm
