Hello,
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the coil spring that is attached to the underside of the hood near the latch from sliding off the landing pad when closing the hood? I have bent the spring back straight and messed around with alignment and so forth but can't seem to keep it from sliding off.
I have had 7 other F150's from 73-79 that I have never had this problem with.
Get a new spring, or put a very small headed carriage bolt in the core support. With the rounded head on the top, maybe it will hold the spring centered. Make sense?

I took another spring from a different hood I had that worked just fine and it did the same thing again. I will give the carriage bolt idea a shot if I can get something in there.
