Sounds like you cleaned up the ground connection and replaced the end at the battery?I like the quick release cable ends had a set on the old Chevy for 10+ years no corrosion they run about $7 a pair and give good contact in a jump mode.I deplore the epoxy coated ends don't suggest them when customers come come in.The quick release are designed much like the Asian market setup with the cable itself being attached at a stud.I am glad it worked out
