Now, everyone will notice the color is slightly off my faded dash paint. This is the second can of "Medium Dark Parchment" I have ordered. The first can was from Riffraff, and it was way too light. This second can was from Express Paint, and it is just slightly too dark. I guess having a faded dash relegates me to unmatched paint until I pull the cup holder and trash hook this week and paint them to match the F650 dash.
Well, I have the coin "basket" inside the center console. I do agree the trash hook is some seriously wasted space, BUT it is also an access point for the screws below the cup holder and the relays behind the dash, so...
Looks great Mike, and you have me beat by about a thousand days and I'm still not done mine..........
I'll bet the color difference isn't so obvious during normal daily driving lighting vs the glamor shots here. I'm a fan of those GlowShift TowMax gauges, I have 2 in service now with a few more to follow. I like having the digital readouts along with the sweep gauge face.
If anyone decides to make their own and drill some gauge holes, ONLY use a hole saw. DO NOT use a forstner bit. It grabs the plastic and tries to spin it. Use the 2 1/16" hole saw and it will go much faster and cleaner. It is an "off" size, though. No big box or specialty wood working stores in my Austin area carried it on the shelf. You will likely have to order one. I used a 2" (since I didn't want to order and wait), then sanded the holes wider with a drum sandpaper bit until it was the right size. Only took a few minutes more per hole.

Nice tip for us looking to do this mod. I'd like to do one if these but really really really don't want to give up my OEM rubber matted cubby yet....

My wife has already started putting things in other places. Nice little cubby in front of the center console on the X that is kinda hidden, and she has some pocket gizmo she bought that fits down between the driver's seat and the center console. We are adjusting to life without the little cubby in the dash...

Lol, I imagine...
Something about real world problems, I know!
I'm pretty sure I'll do it eventually. I need switches and that's the cleanest approach.
I ordered my F650 dash from RiffRaff on Friday and shipped the required parts down to them on Saturday. Just need to wait and see how long it takes to get the panel back.

Hey there. I got the dash somewhere near the beginning of December and had my exhaust brake installed at the end of December. If the brake done, my dash is now done. See this link as it has a completed picture in it.
