4 wheel drive

I have 2005 f350 will not shift on the fly. with a vacumn pump it will hold vacumn at both hubs but will not lock up. the seals should be good .help appreciated.

There's 2 parts to the system. The vacuum locking hubs which you are aware and the electronic shift motor side.
Can you hear the motor shifting the transfercase?

you can turn the key on without starting the truck. After the fuel pump shuts off, switch to 4 high and listen for the motor.

Mine wasnt working right. Cheeked for vacuum leaks and everything was good but would have a large leak when 4WD was selected (hvac blend doors would move to defrost ). Replaced the hub control valve and works good now.

Hub control valve, is that the pump on the left side behind the battery?
My 06 didn't work and I just completed both sides, u-joints and seals and now my on the fky works, yea me.

Like others have said, check the solenoid on the fender. I found mine was cracked.

is there a quick way to check it with a meter or power? I'm having issues also and have done 0 research.

here's your research and get back to us. As someone said, turn your A/C on, then swith to 4hi. Does the air then start coming out of the defrost vents?

The actual comes out the vents like it should it does not have a vacumn leak

The hub it's self has a diaphram in it. Who did the bad a$$ write up on these Gambonie? I can't remember his name.
