Can I by pass this it keeps coming on and off even with the aircondishner off does it run anything else, and when I put my finger over the exit flow whole it shuts off, and when it turns off it is really loud. but it is pumping air.
If you bypass the pump your a/c will only come out the defrost vents, and if your 4wd is electronic shift on the fly the hubs won't lock unless you lock them manually.
I am just nervious because it keeps turning on and I dont want to burn the pump up until I figure out whats going on I must have a leak some where, so if I unplug it, it should just mess with the AC and the 4x4 , Not the brakes and motor. Do you know where the 4x4 hose goes maybe it came off and thats wear it is leaking?
The hub vacuum seals on an ESOF-equipped truck are a known spot for vacuum leaks......pinch or plug the line that goes down to the hubs and see if that keeps the motor from coming on all the time. If it does, you've just isolated the problem.
You can disconnect and plug them at the hubs to start with, and if that doesn't work just move on up toward the pump, plugging and testing at each connector.
Messed with it at lunch plugging stuff off, it's still coming on every thirty seconds, going to the deer lease this weekend hopefully the pump will not burn up, thank you for your help, Do you know how loud it is suppose to be ,I swear I can hear it over the engine.
My pump isn't loud enough that I can hear it over the engine. I think I'd remove the vacuum line from the pump and plug it with my finger. If the pump keeps cycling, you have a bad pump.
I'd unplug the line from the pump itself and plug off the port on the pump. If it won't hold a vacuum there, you can be assured it's the pump. Otherwise you have a leak somewhere.
You could also just unplug the electrical connector.
FYI I'm not sure about 04's but when my vac pump went it blew the fuse which also powers the turn signals. Turn signals are not labeled on the fuse block. IIRC in an 05 it is fuse #22

The OP wanted to keep the vac pump from running until he can find the problem.

On an 05 fuse #22 powers the circuit for L/R turn signals and vac pump. My turn signals stopped working. Since it was under warranty I took it to dealer 2 days later. A/c was still blowing out of dash vents. Dealer replaced fuse and checked turn signal circuit but could not find a problem, everything was working ok. As I drove out of the dealers driveway the A/C defaulted to defrost. I backed up and pulled back into service bay. The tech that had worked on it was still there and as soon as I told the service writer that the A/c would only blow out the deforst, both said vac pump. They fixed it right there in the service line. I had them pull fuse 22 to make sure that the vac pump is on the same circuit as turn signals. So if your turn signals stop working check fuse 22 it is not labeled turn signals. If it is blown than there is a good chance your vac pump has burnt up
