MAF engine modifying

My son and I have been looking for a truck for him since he is driving age now, and we would eventually be slightly modding it, but nothing crazy. I know that the MAF trucks are more mod friendly than the SD trucks, but will a MAF truck take a cam such as a Comp Cams 31-230-3 and still function correctly? Also how strict are the modification boundaries otherwise?

I'm going to take a stab and say that cam is out. You should have a roller cam in the engine so for one you should stick with a roller cam the one you asked about is a flat tappet. And two, it says right in comps description that its not computer compatible.

COMP Cams Xtreme Energy Camshafts 35-349-8 - Free Shipping on Orders Over $99 at Summit Racing

Might be better, but I'm sure more knowledgeable guys will post.

First thing to do is exhaust though, its the biggest issue
