Need some quick help here guys. I thought the spindle would clear the ball joint stud with out removing the axle, but I guess it won't. Do I really have to remove the axle??
Yep, it has to be removed. I see you undid the bolt on the strut, I hope you have a big enough torque wrench to properly torque it. It requires a very high torque
Thanks for the quick reply. It all fell apart so easy with the axle out. I pulled the strut cause I'm doing a Daystar lift also. I replaced the struts about 5 years ago and don't recall what I torqued them to, probably as hard as I could with extra leverage. Do you know the torque value? My wrench goes to 150.
I think the torque spec on the '05 and '06 is 295, but can't remember if that was in nm or lb-f.. I'm also not sure if it's the same on the '03 and '04 but it looks like the suspension is more or less identical
I needed a high torque wrench for the (275 ft. lbs.) pinion nut on my van so I got one of these for $80 plus a simple set of 3/4" drive 6 point sockets. The idea of using a 1/2" reducer for such a high torque value left me with an uneasy feeling.
