Ball joint torque
Anyway, after 5 ujoints, 3 axles (4 if you count the one I shipped back), and 5 ball joints (along with a brake caliper, backing plates, and other various hardware) - I have successfully replaced the u joints in the front axles and all four ball joints. The book I have (Chilton) has torque specs for 99-01 superduty trucks and another for 02+, mine is an 04
And here is where it may not make sense, but it does to me - In 02 the superduties updated the front axle to a Dana 60, while the excursion always used a Dana 50 for its entire production run. So do I use the old specs for the upper and lower ball joint (101 and 101) or the new ones 59 and 150?
Also, what is the torque for the tie rod to the wheel carrier? It's not in my book.
I don't know about the other torque spec.
