Middle seat belt? 69 F250

Did our trucks come with a middle lap belt? Feel certain mine didn't, as the seat belts were still behind the seat in factory plastic when I got it. I do want to put one in the middle, and would like a matching one, if anyone has one. Problem is mine are dang near perfect from never being out of the plastic. Anyone got a set in this dark blue color?
Thanks,
trapperjack

You're gonna need to double up to get a center belt in as there is only mounting hardware for two. At least that's how it is in my '68.

I bought shoulder belts for my truck and used one of the lap belts as a center belt. I can post pics if you want to see how I did it.

I wanna pic! Did you use the original location for the return spool? Did you usr the plugged bolt hole in the cab? Did you use the chevy look alike button latch?
I think I want the airplane look alike latch.

Okay, here's what I did and I'll admit this is a straight up hack. Using the passenger's lap belt I removed the return spool and bolted it down over the new belt like this:

I had to use a large washer to be sure the loop didn't slip and really torque it down. The buckle side had the factory tab so I just stacked it and the new driver's belt and bolted them down together. (They're blue because I planed to paint the truck Harbor Blue.) They're LMC belts. Yep, my truck is filthy under the seat.

Here's what they look like from above:

I used the factory bolt holes in the upper cab corners to secure the top points. The seat cover is Red because I can't make up my mind about color. I'm leaning heavily toward Holly Green these days. I guess I'll have to choose sooner or later. When I do finally make up my mind I'll try to grab some Ford shoulder belts and ditch the LMC belts.

You do know that that bolt is a grade-5 (3 hash marks)?

If occupants are going to be doubled up (more weight/force) on the same bolt, probably wouldn't be a bad idea to put a stronger grade-8 bolt in (6 hash marks on the head).

I have some old chevy seat belts, not a problem to double up at mounting points with the right hardware. Would just prefer to have something that matched, and was correct, like ford belts. My 67 Chevy had middle belts. Not needing shoulder belts, I didn't know what a seat belt was until they made it illegal to drive without them. Were they available? an option? Or not? Thanks.

They were mandated in '68, I believe.

Back when I was a kid my parents had a 1969 LTD. I could swear the seat belt buckles looked just like that. See if you have a local JY that has an old 60's Ford car in it with either a front center belt like you need. Or maybe even a hardly used REAR seat belt set up. I would assume most if not all the buckles were the same back then.

Most junk yards are no longer allowed to sell seat belts by law.

I like the idea here. I will turn one of my stock belts into a center belt when I get the 3 point belts in.
