Just a quick update. I thought I would try and program the Edge to display only one reading in hopes that the two units wouldn't fight each other. I ended up with the same results.
I did order a OBD II bluetooth adapter and will try this as soon as it arrives with the Torque Pro app.

Now a new problem: I need to do an emissions test in two months and have a 0401 code so I set up my Scangauge to read various EGR codes such as voltage, percentage open and amount open requested and my Scangauge does not read any of these. Does anyone have the PID codes for these that work in their Excursion?

Thanks,

Rob

Rob: I just looked at the X-Gauge commands, and the only thing I see is EGR duty cycle. There are 2 commands, one for PWM protocol, and another for CANSF. Did you enter the correct one?? Just asking! Or, are you trying to see if Torque Pro will read them? Good luck!

Quick update- I tried this today on my Samsung phone with the light version and while it does work the Edge unit goes bonkers once a minute or so but will still read. I did try different communication speeds on the BAFX unit and had the same results.
I feel like I am closer to getting this right.

Does anyone know if there are different communication pins in the OBD II port?

I would really like to keep my Edge as it has EGT on it.

I will keep trying and post any results.

I hope this info helps.

I thought the splitter was created so you could have two devices stay plugged in, but not so you could use them both at the same time. I can't imagine an OBDII linking and communicating properly with two devices at the same time. I can imagine your ecm not liking the threesome and leaving the relationship and taking a lot of your money though. I hope not...but I wouldn't be surprised.

More updates,

So I swapped the connectors with each unit but it resulted in the same interference.
I did notice that on my Edge programmer I could go down to a two PID display so I tried having two EGT temps showing. No interference and I think that this is because the EGT temp does not get it's info from the OBD II port.

I am not giving up yet and will post anything I come up with.
