Need help with my engine/transmission problem

Hey,

New here and was wondering if someone could give me some advice on my current problem.

I own a 1948 ford pickup (f-3 i think). It came with the original 4 speed manual transmission (has a pto), drive shafts, and rear end. The problem is it didn't come with the original motor. It did come with a ford flathead v8, late series 239 c1ba. (think out of a 52 car?) and it also came with the bell housing and the 3 speed transmission that is original and bolts up to the engine. I would like to use the 4 speed manual with the newer engine but cant seem to find an adapter plate for it. I have found other ones but since i have a late series 239 its flatish on the bottom. Maybe im just missing something. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can add some pictures of my engine and transmission, if that would help.

Thanks very much
